Sitting up Close: The Role of Audience

Abstract

This narrative is a personal recounting of the effect of performance on the life of the writer. From childhood re-enactments of Hollywood films, through engaging with works on Broadway and London, to her experience as a long-time subscriber to Western Canada Theatre, Routley, who was one of the participants in It’s Your Cue: The Audience Show, in which regular attendees of WCT volunteered to be photographed on stage and interviewed extensively, explores the diversity of roles the theatre lover can assume.
