From Inception to National Reputation: Histories of Theatre North West

Abstract

The two narratives that comprise this article present perspectives on the origin and development of Prince George, B.C.’s Theatre North West.  The practicalities and material conditions of theatre in the small city are revealed. In addition, models for the season system of the company are discussed and the perspectives of the artistic director and general manager of the company on the artistic culture in Prince George and the distinctive nature of the theatre audience are provided.
